Where Knowledge and Faith
Come Together
Hello! I’m Jennifer Chamberlain, and I am honored to serve as Principal of BYU Online High School.
At BYU Online High School, we are committed to providing high-quality, individualized, flexible, and faith-friendly education that reflects the values of Brigham Young University. Our goal is to create a supportive and inspiring environment where students can grow academically, spiritually, and personally. We strive to help every student feel capable, connected, and prepared for lifelong learning and service.
I hold a Master of Education in Administration with Principal Certification from Sam Houston State University and a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with specializations in English, Language Arts, and Reading from Sam Houston State University. With nearly two decades of experience in both online and traditional school settings—public and private—I have had the privilege of serving as a teacher, instructional specialist, school board secretary, administrative consultant, head of school, principal, and assistant superintendent. These experiences have strengthened my belief in student-centered, personalized education and the vital role of strong teacher support.
At BYU Online High School, our dedicated teachers, innovative curriculum, and commitment to excellence help students build confidence, character, and a sense of purpose. We value open communication with families and are here to support each student’s unique path.
Whether you are new to our school or returning for another year, I invite you to explore our website to learn more about our courses, enrollment process, and educational approach. We are grateful to have you as part of the BYU Online High School community and look forward to the journey ahead.

A look back at BYU's history
Exploring the past, embracing the future.
The roots of BYU Online High School trace back to Brigham Young Academy, a small private high school founded in Provo, Utah, in 1875. Under the guidance of its founding principal, Karl G. Maeser, the academy welcomed 29 students who embarked on a journey that would eventually lead to the establishment of Brigham Young University.
In 1904, the academy split into two institutions: Brigham Young High School and Brigham Young University, with the former serving as a “laboratory” school under the College of Education. Brigham Young High School proudly conferred high school diplomas to its final graduating class in 1968. Today, by offering students the opportunity to earn a diploma, BYU Online High School revives the legacy of high school education at BYU. Building upon a tradition of innovation, BYU Online High School remains steadfast in its commitment to providing educational opportunities that empower students to achieve their academic and personal aspirations.
