Plan a Schedule that Works for You
The BYU Online High School Adult program allows you to plan the number of credits you take per semester around your schedule. While the average high school requires 6 credits per year, the adult program allows you to take as little as 0.5 credit per semester.
Typical Course Length
60 mins x 5 days/week = 16–18 weeks (80–90 hours total)
Standard Diploma Track
- Complete 24 credits of courses to get your diploma.
- Take between 0.5 credit (1 course) to 6 credits (12 courses) per year.
- Transfer any credits you have earned at another accredited high school.
- Meet the requirement of taking at least 6 credits (12 courses) through BYU Online High School to receive a diploma.
- Enroll in college-level courses in math, science, and social studies (not AP courses).

How to Apply
The first step takes only a few minutes.
- Apply Online
Submit your student’s application in just a few minutes. The form is simple, secure, and costs only $50. - Send Transcripts
Provide your student’s most recent transcript so we can place them in the right courses. Upload or email—whatever is easiest. - Meet with a Counselor or Advisor
After acceptance, your family will meet with a school counselor or academic advisor to create a personalized graduation plan. We’ll walk you through every step. - Enroll in Courses
Enroll and select the classes that fit your student’s goals and schedule. Core requirements, electives, AP options—everything is built to be flexible. - Start Learning!
Once enrolled, your student can log in and begin learning right away. Courses are flexible and supported by certified teachers.
